12 Week Ultrasound

My doctor did another ultrasound at my 12 week appointment because he knew it would be fun for me to see how much the baby had developed in only 4 weeks. The difference was amazing! You could see it's arms and legs and it was moving all over the place. It even put it's hand up to it's face a couple of times. I have thought I've felt it move a few times in the past week. It is not typical at this stage, but now that I know what it feels like to feel a baby move inside of you I'm pretty convinced that I really did feel it. We'll have another ultrasound at 18 weeks and we should be able to find out if it is a boy or girl then. We can't wait! I know these pictures can be hard to figure out what is what, but hopefully you can see the baby's face looking down and to the right.

Hanging out with my little buddy, Graham

Natalie, Barrett, and Graham came to visit us last weekend.
Jake could hardly eat dinner because he was so into seeing "baby".

"Baby's are neat, look at these little fingers" "What are those sounds coming from the baby?" Notice Graham's grin and you can probably guess what was going on!
"I just love Barrett, he lets me ride on his back!"

Trip to the Newport Acquarium

We met Jennifer, Dan, and Braden last Saturday at the Newport Acquarium. The boys loved it! Jake's favorite was the big sea turtle. He still talks about the sharks, fish, turtle, and snake. We'll definitely have to go back! See more pictures from our trip to the Acquarium.

Being Silly

I cut Jake's hair Saturday morning and then gave him a bath. He was in a silly mood afterwards so I took a few pictures of him having a dance party. He was clapping and having a blast acting silly dancing and falling down.

First Glimpse of Baby #2

We went to the doctor on Wednesday, January 2nd for our first of many prenatal check-ups. Dr. Fackler did an ultrasound and the baby looks just fine and has a healthy heartbeat. They gave us a due date of August 9, 2008; although, the ultrasound came up with August 8, 2008...08/08/08. Wouldn't that be a neat birth date? Seeing the baby definitely made it seem more "real" to Mike and me. 2008 will be an exciting year for sure! I know this picture is hard to distinguish so I made a note to show where the babies head is. The next picture we get should be easier to see.

Ski Trip to Seven Springs

We went on a family vacation to Seven Springs between Christmas and New Years. The ski conditions could have been better, but we still had a lot of fun. We went with Mimi, Grandpa, Matt, Christina, Josh, Uncle Kevin, Elizabeth, Uncle Dan, Aunt DeAnne, Uncle Scott, Amelia, Kate, and Emily. Jake got to try out his new sled in some snow/ice. He thought it was a blast. We're looking forward to a good snowfall here to play in the snow again.

So Much Christmas Fun

We were so excited for Christmas this year because we couldn't wait to see how much Jake would enjoy all the festivities. We were not disappointed! Below are some pictures from the things we did leading up to Christmas.
Big Tree Plantation
We had a great time at Big Tree Plantation picking out our Christmas tree. We rode the hay wagon out to the field and carefully analyzed about 100 trees only to decide on getting one that was already cut. Jake got to see real reindeer and sit on Santa's lap. He liked Santa better from the safety of his Daddy's arms.
Lebanon Christmas Parade
We went to Lebanon's annual Christmas Parade. Jake loved seeing all the horse-drawn carriages go by. His favorites were the little horses that ran by with bells and lights.

Baking Christmas Cookies
Jake had a great time "helping" make Christmas cookies. He actually got flour all over his face. His favorite part was "testing" the batter!
Christmas Eve
We went to the Golden Lamb for dinner with Grammy, Poppy, and Uncle Jarrod and then opened presents. It was so fun. I got lots of fun toys...a sled just my size, my first baseball glove, a new phone, and a truck in my stocking that is just like Daddy's!

Christmas Day
On Christmas morning, Jake woke up to find that Santa had visited our house. He had so much fun discovering his new toys. It was so fun to watch! We went to my parent's for our traditional Christmas brunch (yum!) and presents. Jake got a great kitchen and grill set from Mimi and Grandpa. He spent hours pretending to be a chef! On Christmas evening, we have friends and family at my parents and have a delicious meal together.
