Big Brother Jake

When we first brought Grace home, Jake was anxious to show her some of his toys. He has since figured out she's not all that into them yet!

Jake decided he'd try out Grace's bed. I'm sure he just wanted to make sure it was comfortable enough for her!

Grace's 1 week check-up went really well. She has definitely packed on some weight!

Jake's 1st Bengals Game!

Sunday evening, Grammy and Poppy gave Jake a new Bengal's jersey and hat and took him to his first Bengal's game. He didn't like the fireworks at the beginning of the game, but he enjoyed everything else about the game. They said he watched the game and liked it when they huddled, threw, and caught the ball. He was really excited about the game when he got home that night and insisted on wearing his new jersey to bed.

Pretty in Pink

Here are a few pictures of Grace in some new pretty pink outfits. I'm already having fun dressing her up. She definitely goes through her outfits...she is the queen of going to the bathroom when we open up her diaper to change her. I'm not kidding, it's almost everytime I open her diaper! I thought boys were the ones to do that!? Anyone else have this problem? Otherwise, she is doing great. The last two nights have been much better. I've been swaddling her (thanks Tricia for the swaddle blanket!) and making sure she gets a nice full feeding every time. She went for two 4-hour stretches last night. Hopefully we're on our way to having her sleep through the night soon!

Grace has Arrived!

Grace has finally arrived and was well worth the wait! I started having contractions around 6:30pm Thursday. We got to the hospital around 9pm and I was already 6 cm so it went really fast once it started. We came home from the hospital on Saturday afternoon. We're all doing great - just tired! Jake loves having a baby sister. I'll post more pictures soon!

40 Week Check Up

I know, I can't believe we haven't had our baby yet either! Thanks for all the emails and phone calls checking in on me. I am feeling pretty good still although my lower back really started hurting yesterday. I don't know if I strained it somehow or if it's actually labor pains starting in my back??? At this point, who knows!? We went to the doctor yesterday for my 40 week check up, and I still hadn't made any more progress, so lucky for me he "stripped the membranes". After that he said I am now 2 cm. He said after doing that it usually takes about 48 hours for labor to begin and he hopes I call him this weekend. If not, I am scheduled to be induced on Tuesday. There is an end in sight! We can't wait to meet and hold our little girl!
