We checked into our hotel in Greenville and then went to a really nice graduation dinner for the Emergency Department Residents of East Carolina University. The next morning, we went over to Jarrod's condo where Jake was able to fish and chase ducks!

On the Road

A couple of weeks ago, we packed up and headed to Greenville, NC for Uncle Jarrod's graduation from his residency program at East Carolina University. On the way, we stopped in Chapel Hill, NC and Shelley Park in Raleigh, North Carolina.

We had a little time to kill before we needed to go to Jarrod's Graduation dinner, so we stopped at Shelley Park in Raleigh to stretch our legs. It was really hot, but we all enjoyed it.

Grace is now on the move! I love seeing where she wants to go and what she is interested in. She likes playing with Jake and his toys. I think her favorite thing may be throwing things to the side as she crawls by.

6/9/09: Waterslide!

How lucky are we to have neighbors that have this super huge waterslide!? Thanks Heap Family! :-) Jake had a blast playing basketball, and Grace had fun watching all the action!

5/26/09: Williams - Simpkins Cookout

Mike's parents had Uncle Walt, Aunt Carolyn, Julie, Brad & Bev, Taylor, Trista, and Colton over for a Weenie Roast Memorial Day Weekend. It was great to catch up with all of them. Jake and Grace loved playing with Brad and Bev's kids! They are all so sweet!

5/23/09: 1st Annual McLain Boil!

Aren't good friends such a blessing! We had a great time at the McLain's at their 1st annual Louisana-style Boil! Jake and Rowan had a blast together. They managed to lock everyone out on the back deck. Ross had to climb through the window to unlock the door. Jake and Rowan were playing in the bathroom!

5/23/09: Visit with Gi-gi & Pa-Pa

Gigi and Pa-pa (Mike's grandparents) stopped by to see us and the kids loved playing with them. They know all kinds of fun songs! Gigi brought Jake a bug catcher and he got really excited about catching bugs!

5/14/09: Our Little Mowing Man

Jake LOVES to mow! I think I could go as far as saying he's obsessed with "mowing". On this day, he followed Poppy for hours. As soon as dinner was over, he insisted he and Poppy go back out and finish the job! He also loves to ride with Poppy and Grandpa on their mowers. A few nights ago, he even got to go for a midnight tractor ride with the lights ("yights") on. What could be more fun!?

5/10/09: Mother's Day

We had a really great time fishing, playing on the playground, and eating!
