The wait is finally over, and we found out today that we are having a baby girl! We are both thrilled and a little surprised. I'm not sure why, but we both just kind of figured it would probably be a boy. We think Jake will be great with a little sister and can't wait to meet her in about 20 more weeks! Our little girl was really active during the ultrasound and the tech was chasing her around to check her out and get pictures. Everything they look at appeared just right. The "girl" picture is unclear to us, so we're just taking her word for it! The feet are cute, aren't they!?

Happy Easter!
Jake has been fighting a nasty bug since Wednesday night. He wasn't back to 100% yet, but we still had a nice Easter and he had a BLAST hunting eggs with his cousin's, Hope and Dean. Grandma and Grandpa Bill had us for Brunch and an egg hunt. It was still cold here, but the sun warmed things up a bit and it was nice being outside. Later, we went to Uncle Bruce and Aunt Susan's house for dinner. It was lots of fun! | |||

Big Boy Potty Update
Jake did OK with the underwear so long as we were putting him on the potty regularly. The problem was he wasn't really telling us when he had to go, so we thought we would try it again later when he was more ready. Well, today he insisted he had to "poop in potty"...I thought he was trying to get out of eating breakfast, but went ahead and put him on the potty. Sure enough, he went! It was very exciting!

Baby and House Update
Baby: I know a lot of you were eager to find out tomorrow what we are having (as are we!), but unfortunately I had to reschedule the Ultrasound for next week because Mike wasn't going to be able to make it to my appointment this week. So, we'll find out now on March 27 so long as the baby is cooperative. I hate waiting, but I guess it is just 1 more week. I'll post as soon as we know!!! Other than that, I can just say our baby is very active. I feel little movements really often and I am now sporting a definite baby bump. I'll have to get Mike to take a picture of it to show you all. :-)
House: We sold our house! The closing will be May 9th. The buyer has asked for us to extend our back deck and patio below 10' as well as some additional items so we'll be really busy with all that work on top of packing. We are not sure where we will move next - it is a tough decision. We also need to figure out where to live temporarily while we build. A lot of change is in store for us for the next 6-8 months!!!

Beautiful Day at the Zoo
On March 3rd, we had an unusually warm day so I decided to take Jake to the zoo with my mom. It was soooo nice enjoying some sunshine and warmth (it got up to 70!). Who knew we'd have a blizzard just a couple of weeks later!?
Jake especially enjoyed watching the zebra run around and feeding the peacocks at lunch.

Blizzard of '08!
Yes, we survived the "Blizzard of '08"! It was exciting to get over a foot of snow so quickly. We stayed home most of the day Friday and all of Saturday. We took this picture when we went out to try to shovel the driveway Saturday afternoon. Luckily, our neighbor let us use his snow blower because there was already about 8" at this point and it was still coming down fast. About 2 hours after Mike cleared it, it had about another 4" covering it! We ventured to church Sunday, but I unfortunately came down with the flu and was bed ridden for the next couple of days. Jake is the only one that hasn't come down with anything (knock on wood) this flu season. I hope we are all in the clear now!

Blueberry Pancake Love
I made Jake blueberry pancakes this morning and he kept saying "I love you, Mommy" over and over the whole time he ate them. It was really cute and funny. I guess the saying "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach" can be applied to little boys too!
